Enregistrement toujours... / Still recording...

(English version below)

It’s my turn to sweat in the Shelter…my favourite (and only) younger brother was on vacation here, so I hired him. He was the one to push the “Rec” button while I struggled with my guitar. It is not very convenient to have to deal with both the computer and the guitar at the same time, so his help was very precious to me. Given most of the work is quite solitary and arduous, it was a real blessing to be able to do part of it with Mat. So the recordings progress…

In this month of August, things are getting serious. The countdown keeps on getting the CD release date closer and closer. Summer vacations are almost over, so a certain number of people I would like to have playing on the CD will soon not be as free as now, therefore I have to do that with them before the end of the month. On the last week of August I will go to Paris to record the double-bass played by my friend Luma, and maybe a gospel choir if I can find one. Additionally, I am forming an ensemble of strings (violin, cello) with youth of the area. All of this gives me a lot of headaches because there are a lot of things to do: I have to find a date when everybody is free, while keeping on recording in order them to have a good basis to play on, composing the arrangements and writing the scores…I feel as if I was running a race.

I admit it is a pretty stressful time, but deadlines are very useful for a procrastinater like me! When I don’t have the choice, I don’t have the choice (cf. Confucius). Therefore stress is compensated by the joy of seeing more work being done.
