La semaine d’après // The week after

Premier week-end de repos…Vendredi j’ai démonté la Cabane. D’un seul coup mon appartement a grandi. Cela fait 9 mois que la Cabane trônait au milieu de ma chambre. Le temps d’une grossesse. Le bébé est bientôt là !

Je trouve difficile de trouver des mots pour exprimer ce que je ressens. C’est un mélange de satisfaction, de liberté, de soulagement et de surprise. Pendant ces trois dernières années, mon temps, mon énergie, mes pensées étaient concentrées sur cet objectif. Chaque matin, je me levais avec la perspective d’y passer une soirée, ou alors un vendredi, un dimanche, ou une semaine de congé. J’étais toujours en réflexion pour savoir comment arranger telle ou telle chanson, avec l’inquiétude de ne pas y arriver. Et finalement tout s’est fait. Petit à petit, à pas de fourmi, mais ça s’est fait.

Je me demande souvent pourquoi ça a pris autant de temps et d’énergie, mais je crois que je me suis mis la barre très haut, j’ai dû aller au bout de mes capacités et me dépasser. Je ne le regrette pas, ça valait la peine !!!!

Alors maintenant j’en profite pour me reposer et prendre du temps pour moi. Hier j’ai activement tenté de ne rien faire! Le week-end prochain je serai à Paris pour participer au concert de mon ami Peter, j’en profiterai peut-être pour me mettre dans un café et jouer avec ceux qui auront envie de faire (ou d’écouter) de la musique, avis aux amateurs !

Côté nouvelles, le suspens n’est pas encore terminé, je ne sais pas encore si le CD pourra partir cette semaine pour le pressage, mais cela ne dépend plus de moi. Pendant que Bob, aux Etats-Unis, avance sur le mastering, Cédrick continue sur la pochette. De mon côté je commence à organiser la tournée de concerts. Début Avril, toute l’équipe de la B.O. va monter dans un camping-car pour voyager pendant une semaine ! Voilà les dates et les villes des concerts (les détails seront bientôt disponibles) :

Il y aura aussi un concert de vernissage avec les musiciens qui ont joué sur le CD le 24 Avril, sûrement à Collonges, j’attends la confirmation. This is the first week-end I can stop and rest. On Friday I packed the Shelter. My apartment is suddenly bigger. I have lived with the Shelter in the middle of the room for 9 months. The time of a pregnancy…baby is soon there!

I find it hard to find words to express what I feel. It is a mix of satisfaction, freedom, relief and surprise. For the last three years, my time, my energy and my thoughts were focused on this goal. Every morning I would wake up and there would be a night or a Friday or a Sunday I would spend on it. I was always thinking about how to make this or this song sound better, worrying I would not find the good ideas. And finally everything was done. Little by little step by step, it came to reality.

I often wonder why it took so much time and energy, but I think I set very high expectations on this project, I had to reach the limit of my abilities, and go even beyond. It was not easy but I don’t regret anything, it was worth it!!!

So now I try to rest and take some time for myself. Yesterday I actively did nothing. Next week-end I’ll be in Paris to sing with my friend Peter who is performing his first concert. Maybe I’ll take the opportunity to go in a café and sing with whoever wants to come!

Talking about news, there’s still suspense in the air, I don’t know if the CD will be sent this week for duplication, but it does not depend on me anymore. While Bob is working on the mastering in the US, Cedrick keeps on working on the design. On my side I start working on the tour. At the beginning of April, the whole B.O. team is going to jump into a camping-car to travel for a whole week!
